Klarees, I was confused with your plan. Here's my thought. You can prioritize your TRV renewal. After you get it, apply for a new passport by first week of March so you can have a new passport by July. Let's just hope you have the marriage document by this time. If not, wait for it and move your vacation beyond July if possible since it takes 8-10 weeks to get the new passport.

Hello!

I just have a question. I want to renew my passport that will expire this November 23 because I also want to renew my TRV that will expire this March 13. However, I got married in Jan 19 and I know I will be changing my surname that will be reflected on my new passport. But the marriage certificate won’t be issued not until 8-10 weeks after the marriage took place which means I still have to wait by then.

Can I just renew my passport while waiting for my marriage certificate with The Record of Solemnization of Marriage instead? Or can I just renew my passport and retain my maiden name? Because I am after my TRV before it expires since I will be going home this July for a two week vacation.

Thank you!

Marriage contract is one of the requirements and if she legally changed her surname then there's probably no issue in renewing the passport with your last name.

Hi! My wife needs to renew her passport and we got married in Toronto, we are both Filipino and would like her to use my surname. On passport renewal should we just assume to put my name or there were other steps needed to fullfill prior to changing her surname? Thanks
