Hi, Noar. I suppose you can travel by plane since your passport is still valid. Usually, you are not required to show your passport for domestic flight. And yes you are right that appointment is not required in renewing Philippine passport in the Philippine Consulate General in Toronto. May you have fun in Toronto with your friends. That`s definitely a good way to start a new year. New passport. New experience.]]></description>

And based on my experience the expiration of the new visa is the same as the expiration of the passport.
