Caregivers In Canada

For some, becoming a caregiver in Canada is the ticket to permanent residency, but only after completing two years of employment (as a temporary foreign worker) in the caregiver program.

It is a unique program that is different from other jobs for temporary foreign workers.

Two years may not seem a long period but for others it took them four years to complete the program and attained permanent residency.

Caregivers in Canada

In between those times, challenges are part of the daily lives of caregivers. We see them in parks with their clients in a stroller or wheelchair.

They are everywhere smiling to anyone they meet as though they never ran out of energy.

How did I know?

It is an honor to be one of the Filipino caregivers in Canada. Though I moved on to a different path, I’ll still write about topics related to caregivers.

It is my way of “paying it forward” to the caregivers in Canada.

To all the caregivers, thank you so much!

And don’t forget to take care of yourself as well.

Let me know if there’s a topic you want me to write or you’d like to share a story.
