For Filipinos, it’s important to find out where are the Philippine Embassy and Consulates in Canada to avail the consular services:
- Philippine passport renewal
- NBI Clearance
- Special Power of Attorney
- Authentication of Philippine documents
After becoming a Canadian citizen or dual citizen (eg. Fil-Canadian) it’s just as important to know the Canadian Embassy and Consulate in the Philippines.
Why? What if you lost the Canadian passport while riding in a jeepney on your way to Jollibee. (You can’t miss the happy bee. I’ll have a palabok, please and thank you.)
What a nightmare it is to lose a passport. And if it does happen, you can go to the Canadian Embassy in Makati. While the Consulate in Cebu provides limited notary services.

I went to the Canadian Embassy in Makati several times when I was processing my caregiver application many years ago. You wouldn’t get lost because almost sorts of transportation (bus, jeepney, taxi) pass by Ayala Avenue.
My application for work permit and visa were picked up through a courier (by DHL maybe) during the old days. Now, visa applicants can submit the application at VFS Global. It manages the Canada Visa Application Centres (CVAC) in the Philippines.

Other Resources for Canadians
I have other important resources for Canadians not just in the Philippines. Wherever you are, travel safely and know how to stay connected to the Canadian offices whenever necessary.
- Canadian Embassy and Consulate in the Philippines
- Canadian Embassies and Consulates
- Why dual Canadian citizens need a valid Canadian passport
Will there be more Canadian Consulates in the Philippines in the future? At least, now I know where to go if necessary so here’s a promise.
I’ll take care of all my travel documents and make sure to visit the tourist attractions and taste Filipino foods that I can’t find in Canada.
Have you been to the Canadian Embassy or Consulate in the Philippines? How was it?
